| So school is back in full swing! I have a feeling this year is going to be way more interesting than last year. That is a huge plus in the desire to study department. Cause really I don't mind studying, but it better be worth my time! We have our first test in only two weeks. It is nice to already be settled with friends and a church. Also, this year I am wanting to avoid the oh so high school loke drama that floats around my classmates like the plague. I am missing my little nephew like crazy though. I was spoiled seeing him just about everyday this summer! My sis is here working nearby. So we get to hang this year!!! Let this be a reminder for those of you who havn't updated in awhile - I want to hear from ya:) Yours- Laurel oh yah, current fav song Riddle by five for fighting. checki it out. - Riddle | | |
| Okay! Update time. I have been home for three weeks now. I have been playing nanny and doctor - two fun ways spend my time. Baby Ian is six weeks old now. he is officially the cutest child in the world and he loves his auntie nerm:) I spent this last weekend at Tamara's wedding in Texas which was as sweet as a wedding can be. Also, it was fun meeting up with a few ORU alums there:) I have been shadowing a doc back home and will be with him for two more weeks. It is mostly pretty fun and interesting. He is family but was ob/gyn so he still does a lot of pelvic exams. I have seen more of these than I can count! He does outpatient surgeries too so those are rad to watch. I am trying to prep for Thailand - both mentally and spiritually. I can't wait! All for now... | | |
| Yes, my roommate and I had some special visitors yesterday! We had the pleasure of welcoming about ten firefighters and the chief into our home! It's a long story but our neighbor/classmate came for a visit and turned on our atic fan which does not "work". Within twenty minutes we had an stic full of smoke from the fan belt and lots of noise in the neighborhood. It was so exciting! They set up a fan system to clear out the smoke and removing the piping hot motor from the atic! Needless to say we are never going to let our neighbor live this one down. We already call him Shreck. He just prved it in a whole new way.
This was all after an exam, two hours of softball, and my premeire visit to the driving range! What a day! I hope to have a less eventful week as I nurse my sunburn and tease my firestarter friend relentlessly.
Four weeks from today we are expecting my beautiful nephew to be born. He is already approaching the six pund mark. I went to his baby shower last wekend. It made me realize that he is actually coming and soon.
School has lightened up but we have a lot of tests coming up.
Go out and enjoy the Spring weather! | | |
| Merely moments... I wish that I had hindsight before it is hindsight - if that makes sense. Wisdom in the moment that I need it. That would be a great bonus. What if I could have an eternal prospective throughout the day?
Anyway, just some thoughts before I get back in the school mode. After taking a test on Saturday, I played hookie and have enjoyed a weekend away. My roomie and I hit up a race nearby. It was fun but now I'm pretty tired. I hope that I can put on the thinking cap tomorrow:)
Seven weeks, eight tests, two clinical exams... nice!

| It's been awhile... Spring break has come and gone. It was wonderful being in Tulsa and Portland. I love being with those that I love. It was so refreshing! It is such a blessing to break out of my routine and see the world outside of medical school. I met some cool people too. My load here has lightened now that Gross is over. So, I hope to bring up my other scores and have time for some priorities that I set aside during the past couple of weeks. My nephew may be born early as he is quite large for seven months. His baby room is almost ready but I have not yet seen it as that took place while I was gone. I will be home for one of the showers. The count down to the end of this semester has definately begun! | | |
